Encode
your MP3 reference files to a minimum of 128
kbps.
Your MP3s should
be the same sample-rate as your Project. If your Project is
44.1kHz, then your MP3 should also be 44.1kHz, encoded to at
least 128kbps.
The MP3 file(s) you send should start at the absolute
beginning of your song.
Even if there are
empty measures, or measures that you are not playing before
the song starts, the MP3 file should reflect the very
beginning of your song/Project, which is 1:01:000
(Measures:Beats:Ticks). Your recording program may use a
slightly different way to describe the very beginning, but
just make sure the MP3 starts at the exact beginning time of
your song/project file. By telling us the exact tempo of your
project file, and giving us an MP3 that starts at the
absolute beginning, we can easily line up your MP3 track into
our recording program and your final files should line up
perfectly in your audio program.
Tell
us the correct bit-depth and sample-rate of your
session.
Do not change the bit-depth or sample-rate of your project
after you have created your MP3 file(s). This will affect the
timing of the final horn tracks we send you, and they will
not line-up with your other tracks in your song/project. Most
common rates are 48 kHz at 24 bit.
Include
a CLICK with your scratch track if rhythm is not
obvious.
Include a click at
the beginning of your MP3s, before you start to play. In
other words, your MP3s should have a click on the quarter
notes starting at the very beginning (1:01:000), for maybe
two or four measures (or however many bars you want), then
when your music comes in you can drop the click.
If there are silent passages or unidentifiable beat
patterns in your song, a click would be
very helpful in our timing. You can eliminate this click
track when you mix your project.
Submitting
a second reference MP3
You can upload a
second MP3 as a reference for our arrangers. This could
include a keyboard horn part that you already put together
that you would like our LiveHorn team to duplicate.

You should
use our convenient upload page for sending your
reference tracks. Please fill in all of the information
that applies to each song submitted. The information you
supply will help us create a custom horn section to your
specifications. If you have your files available on your
own personal server, include the link and any necessary
login/password information in the comments box.

50% of total project cost is required to begin your
Livehorns.com session. After we record the horn parts for
your track(s), you will receive a reference MP3 file to
listen to. It will include a rough mix of the horns for your
approval. Upon approval, the project balance is due and the
individual horn tracks will be made available for you to
download.
